Bringing the life story of the icon Bobby Darin, starring top-tier talent, to the stage was a daring idea. There aren't many people around NYC today frequenting musicals on a regular basis who even are familiar with who Bobby Darin was. Yet, in the eyes of many, he's one of the legends of the swing and jazz eras in the 1960s. Both his life and his success were fleeting, leaving fans with numerous what-ifs. This story aims to delve deeply into the mind of a man who filled dance halls and movie theaters in the ‘50s and ‘60s.
As mentioned, one of the key obstacles for Just in Time is continuing to get people excited about a story that many of them have limited knowledge of. Yet, Bobby Darin wasn't just one of the figures of show business in the 1950s and 1960s. He was engaged in activism, campaigning with RFK on the night in LA where he was assassinated. Not to provide too many spoilers, but being heavily influenced by those events, he spent the next year isolated in a trailer. In 37 years, it could be said that the man lived a rich life, and the score to it was incredible!
